Description
"Wednesday, March 31, 1909 [underlined] In the morning I already began unpacking some things from Prof. Vossler. – In the lab, compiled herbarium. Papers at midday. I acquired 4 small lamps, as commonly used by the Wahualuli [?]. They are made by fundis [craftsmen] from tinplate. 4 pieces cost 36 Heller at the local Indian duka [shop]. The top lid with the wick pipe is removable. One admires the solid craftsmanship. A great amount of time is needed to hammer and solder such a thing by hand [Inventory no. KB 122]. – For dinner, Mr. Schulze & Manneschmidt were at my place." [translation]
9 Heller / piece
